Sue joined Georgia Lung Associates in January of 2005. Her interest in medicine began during her undergraduate years when she volunteered as an EMT. Since then, Sue has enjoyed mentoring PA students as well as lecturing for both the Emory and Mercer PA Programs. She is also co-editor of the Georgia Association of Physician Assistants newsletter.

Sue enjoys traveling, golf, marathon running, and spending time with her husband.

After completing his degree, he worked in several emergency departments as an ER Technician prior to attending PA school in Augusta. James is actively involved in the Georgia Lung Scholarship program.

James is very involved in his church and family life.

Ms. Bixler has been with Georgia Lung Associates since September of 2007. She has long held an interest in pulmonary medicine and also holds the Certified Respiratory Therapist credential. Prior to becoming a PA, she worked as an RT in pediatric and neonatal intensive care.

Bethany enjoys live music, traveling, hiking and playing with her dog Lucy.

Shari has a special interest in PA education.

Shari enjoys hiking, multi-sport competitions, and exploring the world through travel.

Rachel Jones

Rachel joined Georgia Lung Associates in October of 2008. Her interest in medicine began as an undergraduate working as a clinical research assistant in the Neuroscience department at Tulane University. She has an interest in international medicine specifically regarding pulmonary medicine. Prior to joining Georgia Lung, Rachel spent time serving in medically underserved areas including India and Mexico.

Rachel enjoys traveling abroad as well as participating in medical mission trips overseas to serve in medically underserved areas.

Ed has been with Georgia Lung Associates since June of 2002. Prior to his higher education, Ed served in the U.S. Army as a junior non-commissioned officer in Germany and Saudi Arabia. He also worked in Family Practice and Occupational medicine before joining Georgia Lung Associates. He has a specific interest in Sleep Medicine.

Ed enjoys traveling and is an avid scuba diver.

Christy has been with Georgia Lung Associates since July of 2002. Prior to joining Georgia Lung, Christy worked in the research department at Roswell Park Cancer Institute. She is actively involved with the Georgia Association of Physician Assistants. She is also a guest lecturer at both Emory and Mercer University’s PA Programs.

Christy enjoys playing the violin in her church orchestra and spending time with her family.

Mrs. Lau has been with Georgia Lung Associates since February of 2008. She developed her interest in medicine while working as a clinical research coordinator at the Washington University Physical Therapy Program and volunteering at a community health clinic in inner-city St. Louis.

Eileen is very active in her church and enjoys playing sports and traveling. She hopes to get involved with local community health clinics in the Atlanta area.

She is interested in sleep medicine, preventative healthcare, and healthcare reform. She is also involved in teaching PA students at Emory University.

Luisa enjoys reading, photography, and spending time with her husband and 2 children.
